Since November 2014, Claus Müller works as research associate at the Chair for Planning & Construction Economics/ Real Estate.
Claus Müller studied Business Administration (Construction & Real Estate) at Biberach University of applied sciences, and Economics, Sociology and Political Science at Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel and Warsaw School of Economics (Szkoła Główna Handlowa). After he received his Diploma in Economics in 2011, he studied Historical Urban Studies at TU Berlin.
Besides his studies, Claus Müller wrote an expertise on the Stadtumbau Ost program for the isw Institute for Structural Policy and Economic Advancement in Halle/Saale. He also worked at the Department for Historical Research of the Leibniz Institute for Research on Society and Space (Erkner) and at the Center for Metropolitan Studies/TU Berlin.
Since May 2015, Claus Müller is an associate fellow at the DFG-funded International Graduate Research Program Berlin – New York – Toronto “The World in the City: Metropolitanism and Globalization from the 19th Century to the Present”
His research interests include rural-urban relations,
vacantness/desertion and urban tourism.
Claus Müller is Member of the Urban Research Group New Urban Tourism  at Georg-Simmel Center for Metropolitan Studies .
